Free Iced Tea for a Car-Free Park

We, the T.A. Youth Advocates, had another day of getting postcards signed. Today's special was free Iced Tea, as long as you signed a postcard. We started the day, by of course making the Iced Tea, with two bags of ice and a huge container of Lipton Iced Tea Powder, which didn't take more than 15 minutes. We had this small, nice and little bicycle cart with this massive cooler on it, all attached to our manager's bike.

Equipped for Safety in a Car-filled Park

Michael and FarahAfter having my bicycle headset repaired by a local bicycle shop in Brooklyn, I rode smoothly on the way to Prospect Park on this warm and breezy summer day. When I arrived at the park, I was warmly greeted by Jessie and Farah. Unfortunately, Oswald and Kelena had to take the day off, but nevertheless, there was work to be done, park-goers to entertained, and postcards to be signed.

Another Day, Another Postcard on the Pile

Car countOn August 5th Michael, Farah and I set out in the park to work on our daily task: giving out postcards and alerting park-goers about our campaign. Farah went around the Loop Drive, because of the great response we had received there to our Street Theater on Saturday. Michael went up the West Drive to Center Drive. I went around the Long Meadow.

Trees on Strike

Trees on Strike

As I stepped out into the glistening summer day, I thought about what today's workday would be like. Millions of situations raced through my mind and I couldn't wait to get to work. When I reached Prospect Park I was surprised to find my supervisor surrounded by what turned out to be huge tree costumes. Well, not exactly trees. More like an interpretation of trees.
